Solar Camera is designed from a basic system extremely flexible and adaptable to multiple uses
which is the core of our products.
Volta has wrapped it in an innovative managing system for critical conditions called Volta
Intelligent Power System. The focus of system was transforming an erratic energy as the solar
one is, in a reliable source.
Technical characteristics of the device have been optimized in order to
consider photovoltaic power as an excellent supply also for video surveillance system for which,
reliability and safety of proper operational conditions, are the basis of the concept itself.
With these peculiarities, Solar Camera can be defined as a complete tool able to manage itself by its
own and moreover it is definitely possible rely on it.
Volta Intelligent power system includes:
- automatic power sourece selection and eventually a dual dynamic power source.
- self-diagnostic system, consumption analysis, storage of state data.
- management system of power failure (prolonged lack of lightning) and standby.
- favorable conditions and automatic recovery analysis.
Network infrastructure
The basic system is equipped with native WiFi connection and is GPRS/EDGE ready.
In multiple
network interfaces available contexts, network management software, collects information on the
responsiveness of each channel, selecting dynamically the most efficient.
Expandability
The system is equipped with TTL logic inputs (5V) through which is possible to connect motion
sensors, infrared and any other external element can be used to generate a scheduled event. After
that there are two ports for power devices connection with settable on-off switch also in time-mode.
Power supply for external devices, is conceived to support higher power requirements than those
required for the basic system operation and specifically created to operate independently from
the rest of the system. Connected devices consumption is, however, monitored in the monitoring
system status.
Linux platform provides a flexible and easily extensible infrastructure both in terms of customizing
the application and expanding to new devices and control interfaces (Bluetooth, zigbee..). In this
way is possible increase the opportunities of usage in multiple fields like video surveillance, access
control, wireless router etc..
A programmed storage of data is settable by installing a memory card in the internal slot, in case of
specific conditions or critical charge level (for example by enabling the connection), external events
or remote notifications.
Life
With optimal conditions, the system is intended to remain active, in state of total detachment from
photovoltaic panel, up to 6 days when configured with peripheral equipment and a camera with an
average consumption of 4W (generally higher than normal IP camera).
This calculation has been thought to keep acceptable the size of the device without compromise the
functionality.
In relation to configurations with higher capacity or load required for most demanding devices, the
system is ready to accept a different calculation, within physical feasibility limits, installing a more
powerful solar panel and a battery with more capacity.
